Who we serve
Retail systems for shops that sell on WhatsApp and take M-Pesa
Sell beyond your street, without hiring someone to watch the phone.
How does Techmode help retail & e-commerce?
Techmode builds online stores, WhatsApp ordering and stock systems for Kenyan retailers and e-commerce sellers, with M-Pesa checkout and automatic order confirmation. It suits shops already selling through chat who are losing orders to slow replies or stock they cannot see. Stores start from KSh 120,000.
What we hear
The week, as it actually goes.
Orders come in on WhatsApp all evening and I answer them all at once.
I sold something I did not have.
M-Pesa messages and orders are matched by scrolling.
What we install
The systems that fix that week.
A store with M-Pesa checkout
Mobile-first, fast on data, with STK-push payment, automatic receipts and delivery updates on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp ordering that runs itself
The agent shows what is in stock, takes the order, raises the payment prompt and confirms — at any hour.
Stock that decrements when something sells
One number for stock across the shop, the store and the chat, so you stop selling what you do not have.
Customers you can reach again
A record of who bought what, so a restock or an offer goes to the people who would actually want it.
What changes
Before, and after.
| The old way | With Techmode |
|---|---|
| An order at 10pm is seen at 8am. | It is taken, paid and confirmed before you wake up. |
| Payment is confirmed by scrolling to find the M-Pesa message. | The order marks itself paid, and the receipt goes out automatically. |
| Stock is whatever the last person to look in the store remembers. | One count, updated by every sale, visible from anywhere. |

Questions
Retail & e-commerce, answered.
Can customers pay with M-Pesa on the website?
Yes, through the Safaricom Daraja API. The customer confirms an STK push on their phone, the order marks itself paid, and the receipt and WhatsApp confirmation go out automatically. We also handle the case where the confirmation is slow.
Most of our orders come through WhatsApp — do we still need a website?
A store gives your chat somewhere to send people for the catalogue, the prices and the payment, which is exactly the part that is slow to do by typing. The two work together; the chat stays where the relationship is.
Can it stop us overselling?
That is what a single stock count is for. The website, the chat agent and the shop all read the same number, and it decrements on sale rather than on someone remembering to update it.
What about delivery — riders, zones, fees?
Delivery zones and fees are set up as part of checkout, and the customer gets status updates on WhatsApp. Integrating a specific courier's system is possible and adds to the scope; we will tell you which ones are straightforward.
How long before we can take our first online order?
A focused store typically launches in three to six weeks, depending on how ready your product photos and prices are. Having the catalogue prepared before we start is the single biggest thing that shortens it.
